The presidential decree that restricted Parimatch’s activities in Ukraine caused financial problems for the company’s customers. This was reported by the Interfax Ukraine agency with reference to the company’s management. UAH 250 million in the accounts of Ukrainians turned out to be blocked.
«At night, banks turned off the possibility of withdrawing funds, freezing about UAH 250 million in the company’s accounts,» comments Maksym Liashko, CEO of Parimatch.
Natalia Hilevich, Manager of Parimatch in Ukraine, added that tens of thousands of customers were affected by these measures, which is a serious blow to the company’s reputation.
It is noteworthy that relations with state-owned banks began to become more complicated even before the official introduction of sanctions. This highlights the complexity of the situation for Parimatch, which is trying to maintain the ability for its customers to place bets and other transactions within its platform.
The company denies any ties to Russia. «Allegations about our involvement in Russian assets are completely untrue,» Liashko said, emphasizing that ties with the Russian market were completely cut off back in 2022. He noted that, according to the terms of the license, Parimatch will continue its work, but with the termination of the system after the official entry into force of sanctions.
On March 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky activated the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) to impose sanctions against 120 individuals and 287 legal entities, including Parimatch LLC.
